Border Patrol agents detain teenage siblings, deploy chemical irritants, and pepper spray handcuffed man in face on Blaisdell Avenue
Jan 21, 2026 · Minneapolis, MN
On January 21, Border Patrol agents, including BORTAC tactical unit members, detained a boy and girl from a vehicle on Blaisdell Avenue in Minneapolis. When residents gathered to film the arrests, agents responded aggressively. An observer was detained on the ground, bleeding from his nose. Agents deployed tear gas or smoke canisters. Video footage shows agents detaining a woman and man at a nearby intersection, where a fourth agent approaches the man already being held on the ground and pepper sprays him directly in the face from inches away. Observer Angela had her window smashed, was zip-tied, and taken to Whipple.
