On April 15, 2025, between 50 and 56 men transferred from Krome to FDC were placed in a single small cell for nearly nine hours without food or water. One officer greeted them: 'Welcome to hell. Face the wall, motherf*ckers.' When a man denied his inhaler began spitting up blood, officers ignored pleas for two hours. After detainees flooded the room to get attention, a Disturbance Control Team deployed with shields, pellet guns, stun and smoke grenades. They launched two stun grenades into the cell, forced men to lie face-down on the wet floor, and zip-tied their hands behind their backs. One officer ordered the camera feed turned off. A team member slapped a detainee while shouting 'Shut the f*ck up.' Others threatened deportation to El Salvador. A man's finger was broken when an officer pushed him into a chair. The men were detained overnight without mattresses, blankets, food, water, or medical care.
