On June 5, 2025, detainees at Krome carried out a silent protest on the basketball court against prolonged detention. The next day, officers began mass transfers. One pod dropped from about 140 people to 45. A detainee recovering from a medical procedure witnessed guards trying to force a group onto a bus to FDC. When some men refused to move, four or five officers jumped on a detainee, beat him to the ground, hogtied him, and dragged him to the bus. The witness said officers did this to at least four men. During the incident, men called to an ICE officer present, asking him to intervene. The ICE officer responded, 'It doesn't matter, you need to get on the bus.'
