PHR and UC Berkeley documented 21 crowd-control weapons misuse incidents at immigration enforcement protests in Newark, New Jersey. Chemical irritants were the dominant weapon, used in 76% of incidents. The last documented incident in the dataset took place on May 30, 2026, outside the Delaney Hall immigration detention center in Newark.
