During an August 11, 2025 joint patrol at Lake Borgne with U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, three men were detained by federal agents for immigration issues despite officers reporting no witnessed crimes or civil violations. Two of the men had legally entered the U.S. but overstayed their authorized time; the third allegedly entered without authorization.
