In Louisiana, federal agents detained a 22-year-old with Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, which is granted to certain young people who suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonment. This individual, who also had a grant of deferred action, was arrested when he arrived at work. Agents dismissed his work authorization and deferred action as proof of lawful status. He was stripped of deferred action and denied a bond hearing.
