The review examined cases from June 2025 to January 2026, finding that 15 of 26 accused never faced federal charges, 8 had cases dismissed, and 5 were shot by officers during encounters. In one case, charges against Marimar Martinez, shot five times by a Border Patrol agent in Chicago, were dropped after the agent's own texts contradicted the official account.
