U.S. citizen detained by ICE after confronting agents during neighbor's arrest in New Jersey

Brandon Domena, a U.S. citizen and native of Passaic, New Jersey, was detained by ICE for approximately five hours after he questioned federal agents about why they were detaining one of his neighbors on July 23, 2026. Video footage shows multiple ICE agents in tactical gear restraining Domena face-down on a residential lawn, handcuffing him, and placing him in a vehicle while bystanders recorded. According to his family and witnesses, Domena repeatedly stated he was a U.S. citizen during the arrest. A witness reported that five agents restrained him and that his arm was nearly dislocated. Domena believes he was racially profiled. ICE has not released an official statement regarding his identity, citizenship status, or the reason for his detention.
