Felipe, a 70-year-old Cuban man with diabetes and diabetes-related complications that severely affect his ability to walk, was deported to Mexico. He described being unable to find a job: 'Who do you think is going to want to employ me given all the problems I have with my legs?' He also described the painful process of complying with required in-person check-ins at the asylum office, needing to take a bus and then walk blocks despite his leg problems. When he tried to sit down at the office, security guards told him he could not. COMAR did not accommodate his health conditions or age.
