Husband detained by ICE in Springdale after police traffic stop

Jose Acosta, an undocumented immigrant from Honduras awaiting a green card decision, was detained by Springdale Borough police and ICE on July 2 while seated in his parked truck outside a job site. ICE and Springdale police were conducting joint field operations under a 287(g) task force agreement signed in November. Acosta had lived in the country since 2018 without incident except for a 2023 traffic stop. His wife, Yaquelin Vasques, is raising their three children while he faces potential deportation.
