At least 41 immigrant construction workers, including nationals from Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras, were detained by ICE agents on September 2 as they left an EwingCole construction site for a Geisinger Medical Center expansion in Danville, Pennsylvania. Local police from Mahoning Township and Danville assisted, saying stops were initiated over alleged traffic violations before some occupants were transferred to ICE custody. The Centre County Rapid Response Network, an immigrant-rights group, alleged agents set up checkpoints near highway entrances, used drones, and followed some workers home. ICE returned to the site around September 8 and arrested at least one more worker, with some reports citing eight additional arrests bringing the total to 49. Some detainees were held at Clinton County Jail, and most reportedly remained in detention. The Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition called it the largest workplace raid in the state to date, while Geisinger Medical Center said the arrests did not occur on its property and local police offered a differing account of the operation.
