He was transferred to an ICE processing center in Louisiana, hundreds of miles from his wife, U.S. citizen Omara Nunez, and their two children, ages 9 and 2, while his green card application remains pending. Nunez said their younger child waits by the door asking for his father, and their daughter has struggled with his absence. Supporters describe Augustave as a devoted husband, father, and community pastor who has continued ministering to fellow detainees. Immigrant rights activists, local pastors, and state Sen. Patty Kim held a news conference calling for his release, noting he remains separated from his family and congregation.
