Restaurants and businesses closed after an owner or workers were taken

Reported cases describe ICE and Border Patrol detaining restaurant, buffet, car wash, bridal shop, and car lot workers or owners in workplace raids and traffic stops across states including Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, Michigan, Indiana, and California, with businesses then closing and employees left jobless. First documented in April 2025, the pattern became recurring by June 2025, which was also its peak month, and has held a roughly steady share of documented stories since.
