City officials found serious safety concerns including a failed fire department inspection. The facility appears to be operating without a required city business license and conditional use permit, and in violation of Senate Bill 29, which prohibits local governments from issuing permits for privately-run federal immigration detention centers without public notice and hearings. Freedom for Immigrants is demanding immediate closure and enforcement of state and local laws.
