Queens officials demand Bulova office complex stop letting ICE stage raids from parking lot
Sep 1, 2025·Location: East Elmhurst, NY
Elected officials in western Queens, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Grace Meng, and Assembly Member Jessica González-Rojas, sent letters demanding that management of the Bulova Corporate Center stop allowing ICE to use its parking lot as a staging area for immigration raids. Officials said ICE vehicles, confirmed through license plate checks, have been seen at the lot at least seven times since March, with groups ranging from a few agents to more than 20. The letter cited a chilling effect on immigrant residents in nearby neighborhoods such as Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, and Corona. Management responded only by stating that ICE does not maintain an office there, without addressing the staging concerns. The letters come amid a reported surge in ICE enforcement across Queens, including an incident in which an agent pointed a firearm at a man filming him on 24th Avenue.
