Judge blocks border wall construction through Big Bend National Park
Oct 2, 2026·Location: El Paso, TX
A federal judge in El Paso temporarily blocked the Trump administration from expanding border wall infrastructure through the Big Bend region of west Texas. The ruling halts Department of Homeland Security waivers that had suspended dozens of environmental and historical protection laws to speed construction of roads and vehicle barriers. The lawsuit was brought by the Friends of the Ruidosa church, the Center for Biological Diversity, and a local river guide.
