A material witness to the ICE vehicle strike that injured Miguel Parra-Hernandez was sitting in the backseat of the ICE vehicle at the time of the collision in northwest Houston. Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare said ICE transferred the witness roughly 300 miles south to the Port Isabel detention center before his office could arrange to interview him. Investigators interviewed the witness the night of Oct. 10, and by 1 a.m. the next morning he had been put on a flight and deported to Mexico, despite being identified as a material witness in the ongoing investigation.
