Antonio Moreida, 37, was struck by an unmarked ICE SUV on a Tuesday morning while documenting federal immigration enforcement activity near Clover Street and College Street in Woodland, California. Video from multiple angles shows Moreida walking in the street with a GoPro and cellphone recording the vehicle when it swerved and hit him, knocking him to the ground; the SUV continued driving without stopping. A witness, Steve Hanes, said agents told Moreida to step away before he was struck. Moreida sustained minor injuries, including scraped knees and hands, was treated at the scene, and was later taken to a hospital for evaluation. Woodland police said the ICE driver cooperated with investigators and the case will be submitted to the Yolo County District Attorney's Office for review. Moreida later spoke at a Woodland City Council meeting about the incident. U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson and Sen. Alex Padilla condemned the incident, and the monitoring group NorCal Resist called it part of a pattern of ICE escalation and aggression.
