Adelanto ICE facility detainees placed in solitary confinement for extended periods

The Adelanto ICE Processing Center has placed dozens of detainees in solitary confinement each month since June 2025, with numbers tripling when the Trump administration's mass deportation effort increased. The facility ranks among the top 10 U.S. ICE facilities by percentage of detainees in segregation, with the detainee population tripling since the previous fiscal year. As of January 2026, 74 people were in isolation at the facility. Nationally, average solitary confinement stays have increased from two weeks in 2022 to more than seven weeks by the end of 2025.
