Indian National Re-Detained by ICE After 20+ Years in U.S.

Paramjit Singh, a native of India who entered the U.S. without inspection in 2004, was re-detained by ICE at a New York office during a scheduled check-in on November 18, 2025. Singh had been previously detained, placed in removal proceedings, and released, with an asylum application pending since 2024. The court ordered respondents to provide Singh with a bond hearing within seven days or release him.
