U.S. Citizen Detained 10 Days by Immigration Officials Arizona

Jose Hermosillo, a 19-year-old U.S. citizen from Albuquerque, was arrested by Border Patrol agents on April 8 near Nogales, Arizona, and detained for 10 days at Florence Correctional Center on suspicion of illegally entering the country despite having U.S. citizenship. His family located him after extensive searching and provided his birth certificate and social security card to officials. A magistrate judge dismissed his case on April 17, and he was released that night.
