Nevada becomes first state removed from Trump sanctuary list after signing ICE enforcement memo

Governor Joe Lombardo signed a nine-page memorandum of understanding with the DOJ committing Nevada to full federal immigration enforcement cooperation, making it the first state removed from the Trump administration's sanctuary list. The agreement allocated FEMA funds for sheriffs facilitating ICE operations, committed the Nevada National Guard to administrative immigration enforcement support, and pledged state opposition to Democratic officials' immigration policies. The DOJ made no commitments to Nevada in return.
