Somali US citizen, 44, detained 30 minutes outside his apartment despite showing US passport

Ali Dahir, a 44-year-old Somali US citizen, was stopped outside his apartment building by ICE and asked for his ID and whether he was a US citizen. He provided his US passport card but was detained for 30 minutes. Federal judge Eric Tostrud found he was detained 'based solely on his race or ethnicity.'
