70 arrested in Operation Muddy Waters child exploitation crackdown across Mississippi

Operation Muddy Waters, a two-week Homeland Security Investigations crackdown involving federal, state, and local agencies, resulted in 70 arrests targeting child exploitation offenders. Among those arrested were Cristian Abel Argueta Giron, an undocumented immigrant from Honduras, who allegedly traveled from Tennessee to Mississippi to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor; Rahul Mondal, an undocumented immigrant from Bangladesh on a student visa at the University of Alabama, who allegedly contacted a 14-year-old male via social media; Jose Arevalo Garcia, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico and non-compliant sex offender previously convicted of sexual assault in 2010; Enrique Bravo Gonzalez, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico and non-compliant sex offender previously convicted of a felony sexual offense against a child in 2022; Justin Tyler Scott, a U.S. citizen who allegedly established communication with a 14-year-old male via social media for sexual purposes; and Yves Jean Baptiste Cook, a U.S. citizen who allegedly contacted a 14-year-old female via social media and sent explicit images while requesting nude photos.
