Jail records show about 58 people were detained on ICE holds in Galveston County during the first half of August, out of roughly 80 total immigration-related holds and arrests recorded in that period. Of those, 35 were held in Galveston, 21 in League City and 24 elsewhere in the county, with more than 64% linked to ICE detainers placed on local jail inmates.
