A Venezuelan man detained at the Broward Transitional Center in Florida has been told he will be deported to Africa this week, according to Maria Bilbao of the American Friends Service Committee. As he was transferred between detention facilities, he lost his identity documents, immigration papers, and medications he needs. Bilbao said he, like other detainees facing third-country removal, has no family ties or support in the destination country and faces arriving with no documents, no one to turn to, and no guarantee that medical care will continue.
