Oregon woman, a U.S. citizen, detained by ICE for 7 hours after photographing agents
Nov 3, 2025·Location: Gresham, OR

Berenice Garcia-Hernandez, 25, took action after seeing a Facebook post alerting people to ICE agents near a Gresham Chick-fil-A, after the original poster said he was too scared to photograph the agents' license plates. Garcia-Hernandez drove to the restaurant in her fiancé's government-plated car and photographed the agents' plates herself before driving off, after which agents followed her and approached her car when she stopped at a red light. She said one agent recorded her but refused to show law enforcement identification; she was later detained by ICE for about seven hours. The Oregonian and By Jove covered the story.
