A report using ICE data obtained through a FOIA lawsuit found interior immigration arrests rose sharply in the first year of the second Trump administration, with street arrests up 11 times and detention beds used for interior enforcement more than quadrupling. ICE increasingly arrested people without criminal convictions and released fewer detainees, raising the chance of deportation within 60 days from 56 to 63 percent overall, and from 26 to 57 percent for those without convictions. Voluntary departures also increased 28-fold as detention conditions made people less likely to fight their cases.
