USCIS previously raised the annual asylum application fee, employment authorization fees for asylum, parole, and TPS applicants, and the TPS application fee effective January 1, 2026, while leaving the base asylum fee and Special Immigrant Juvenile fee unchanged. The agency has now announced a further inflation-based adjustment to these same H.R. 1 immigration fees for Fiscal Year 2027, effective October 16, 2026. Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, USCIS is required to update these fees annually based on the Consumer Price Index, and any application postmarked on or after the new effective date without the correct fee will be rejected.
