Danbury Unites for Immigrants held a rally demanding an end to increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations after organizers said at least 64 people were taken into ICE custody in the city over the course of a week. Some arrests were captured on video, including one involving a man identified as Johnny Queda, and separate footage showed another man being forced into a store window during an encounter with agents. Community members, including Britney Gouchen, who was born and raised in Danbury by immigrant parents, expressed distress over the arrests, while organizer Juan Fonseca Tapia said the group plans to continue demonstrating and providing resources as long as ICE activity continues.
