The Department of Homeland Security ended its contract with Salus Worldwide Solutions, founded by William Walters III, following months of corruption allegations tied to its role running DHS's Project Homecoming self-deportation program. DHS awarded a new contract worth up to $2.062 billion over three years to Virginia-based Response AI Solutions to continue removing migrants who opt to leave the U.S. voluntarily rather than face deportation.
