Supreme Court lets Trump end TPS protections for Haitians

Country of origin: Haiti

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 along ideological lines that the Trump administration can end Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of immigrants, including Haitians, without judicial review. The majority rejected claims that the decision was racially motivated despite Trump's past derogatory statements about Haiti. The ruling affects an estimated 350,000 Haitians who could lose legal status and work authorization.
